Cruise Night - February 2015
A cool but dry and clear afternoon encouraged around 300 car owners to cruise down to Mornington's Homemaker Centre. Well there's quite a few that cruise up from further south as well. Anyway, wherever they started out from the Centre's car park started filling up with classic, chrome bumper, vintage, sports, muscle, and street rods, until we had to search for empty spaces.
Another great mix of makes, models, years, eras and styles on display. The Rotary Club again sold out of sausages, I think they find it hard to believe that this many people cruise in their favourite cars on a Tuesday night after work. They promised to have more for March.
We hosted a visit from James & Clare form the Mornington Shire to explain the L2P driver training program they have available on the Peninsula. If your interested in helping young drivers gain their 120 hours leaner experience contact us and we'll provides some details. It's a great way to help put better drivers onto our roads.
The guys from Creative Custom Cars from Dromana turned up with one of the original JPS BMW 635 race cars to check out. This car is under ongoing restoration back to original race condition and will one day join the many hundreds of Historic Race Cars we're now enjoying at events like the upcoming Phillip Island Classic to be held over the March Long weekend. We still have some places available in our cruise down to this event on the Saturday. See this events page elsewhere on our web site for details.
We again manged to find winners for the nights Cruiser cash draw and three prize packs provided by ACDelco & Meguairs.
The one downer for the night was the announcement we were forced to make to cancel the upcoming Texas Hold'em Poker Cruise to Flinders in a couple of weeks time. We're disappointed but circumstances beyond our control forced the decision.
On the upswing, next month is March and yes, we're going to find out who's taking home the Chevrolet 350 engine and the other great prizes in our annual LGC Cruiser draw. If you're already a 2015 subscriber you're automatically in the draw. If your not, join between now and 6pm on the night of the Cruise Night and you can still sneak in. LGC Cruisers don't have to be present to win a prize but wouldn't you want to be there to see your name and Cruiser number come out?
