Cruise Night - September 2018

What a great start to the cruisin season. After our winter lay off it was good to see lots of familiar faces out cruisin. Lots of new faces as well. An almost perfect Spring evening was much appreciated after the cold & windy weather experienced for most of winter. The warm day encouraged nearly 200 cars and lots of chrome bumper enthusiasts to kick start another cruise season. You know it’s very good when so many owners of hot rods have fired them up to come to the cruise night after being tucked away all winter. It was also good to know that after our winter recess, we hadn’t forgotten how to wire up the audio and set up for the night. Heather & Kerin were kept busy all night with Cruiser subscription renewals. Thanks again for all those that have supported our activities by renewing. Kerin has been very busy setting the email system for this years Cruiser newsletter and processing all the renewals that came in thick and fast. A big thank you to Kerin & Heather for their efforts. Geoff also had some new merchandise items to help freshen up your wardrobe. If you were busy checking out the many new cars that rolled into the car park, have a look at the next cruise night in October.

While on ‘thank you’s’ we kicked off our prize draws with a presentation to Peter & Maree Koning. They have been LGC members for a number of years making the long trip over from Hoppers Crossing in mid-afternoon traffic! Just so they could work at hosting our events. While working the entry gate, Peter could be found often advising car owners on all things club permits in his role as State & National Technical Director for the Australian Street Rodding Federation. Peter & Maree are relocating to SE Queensland and we forward to catching up with them at next year’s ASRF Nationals. Thank you to you both for your contribution not only to LGC but the wider street rod hobby in general.

Time then for the $100 cash Cruiser draw. Col was very happy to collect the $100. With a large crowd still present we only needed the 3 draws to find 3 winners for the night’s Meguiar’s & ACDelco product filled goody bags.

Thanks for coming. If you didn’t make it, we’ll be back on Tuesday October 2nd.

Here’s some photos taken by Shelley.
