51st Victoran Hot Rod Show 2016

Let’s Go Cruisin was invited by the VHRA to host a display in the outdoor annex for this year’s Hot Rod Show. The fifty car owners who registered to come along for the day started out with a short cruise from the Eastlink BP. Apart from the rain we drove through on our way to Carlton, everything else worked great. We had a full display of quality cars, the weather eventually came good and the VHRA came up with another Show beer fridge as a prize in our raffle draw. The Pink Slips all went off for a nice lunch at Harbourtown, Geoff won the Show’s beer fridge, Chris went home with a very nice Mercedes Benz watch supplied by Mercedes Benz Mornington and there were goody bags and 'Nostalgic' Hot Rod Show T shirts a plenty. Of course there were all the great cars inside the Exhibition building to drool over. The day disappeared very quickly so that's always a sign that there was plenty to do.
Thanks to all the entrants for making our cruise and display possible, the VHRA committee for the invitation to participate in the show, Bill & Kerin for pulling the day together, Heather & Peter for manning our tent for much of the day and all the LGC members that pitched and packed up our camp. The VHRA seemed pleased with our roll up, especially considering the weather forecast for some wet roads and hopefully we'll be invited back next year.
All in all a very enjoyable day out. Here’s a few photos from our roving photographer Graeme.
