Cruise Night - November 2019
Fortunately, Melbourne Cup Day enjoyed better weather than the days leading up and the encouraged the cars to roll in earlier than normal. It was also the first cruise night hosted in the new daylight saving cycle, so by 5pm the car park was rapidly filling and by 6pm we’d run out of flyers and still trying to find spaces to park. Lots of great cars with lots of happy enthusiasts enjoying the holiday checking out our preferred sort of horsepower. In fact, close to 300 cars cruised in.
With the Sober Mule closed for the public holiday, the Mt Martha Rotarians were flat out working two BBQ’s to keep everyone fed. The hard working volunteers from their club never letting the queue get too long at any stage. Well done folks.
A large crowd gathered around for the Cruiser & raffle draws. Matt was very happy to collect a $100 when his name came out of the Cruiser draw box and Alan was very happy to win the $300 Dyne Tune voucher and went off looking for Chev to arrange a visit to his Carrum Downs workshop to cash in his win. The 3 goody bags with Meguiar’s, Liqui Moly & ACDelco products found happy new owners in no time and with that a really enjoyable get together came to a close. Well almost, as the balmy evening had plenty of entrants staying around while the event slowly wound down.
Next month we’re back for Santa Cruz our biggest cruise night of the year with a visit from Santa Claus, kid’s activities, great prizes in our charity raffle and of course lots of cool cars. Not to be missed.
Here’s some photos from Shelley along with a few taken from above from Simon.
